Play With Your Food: Thanksgiving fun
Those traditional Thanksgiving dishes from cherished family recipes might be nostalgic and delicious for adults, but frequently they are seen as strange and uninviting to young children. Consider a small dish of something you know they already like, and then offer tastes of some new ones. To encourage healthy eating with a bit of fun, you might try something like this veggie and fruit turkey-- made from half a pear, some celery and carrot sticks, and a few other produce items. Or provide a few cut up pieces and let the child create an edible picture of their own design to bring to the dinner table.
